Shanti e.V.
Shanti is the Nepalese term for peace.
Shanti e.V.s goal is to help children and adults in Nepal who are in need – the disabled, the ill and those people neglected by society – to regain their dignity.
This is done through a clinic that includes an integrated pharmacy and outpatient clinic, through a food kitchen that uses products grown through its own organic gardens and provides approximately 1200 meals daily, through a fountain with clean drinking water (also for the people who are living in the nearby slum) as well as through various employment grogrammes for those who live at Shanti. Shanti e.V. also helps to preserve and promote cultural techniques that are in danger of being lost. In addition there is a kindergarden and a school which supports children in thinking creatively and socially and living responsible and self-determined lifes.

In November 2023, a strong earthquake struck Bajura in western Nepal.
The people living there belong to the untouchable caste and are so poor, that they need help to survive every year. Many children are malnourished and many mothers die of exhaustion after giving birth.
Shanti e.V. took in twenty-three orphans from Bajura in 2023.
After the earthquake, thousands of huts were in ruins and with winter temperatures already setting in, the most important first aid was to send sleeping bags and warm jackets.
The Amali Foundation donated, among other things, 882 sets consisting of a hooded jacket and a sleeping bag. Shanti e.V. ensured distribution to mothers with children and old women, as they were most at risk in the cold.
“The joy of the people was touching. They thought they had been forgotten. So the generous donation was doubly helpful: it not only warmed the bodies, but also the souls of people who were freezing inside. They experienced people-friendly willingness to help. Thank you very much! The campaign also makes us at Shanti grateful and happy!”
